Coxheath Copper Mining Timeline (Updated Aug 19, 2025)
The Coxheath project has been cycled through countless names and junior mining companies, including most recently:
Burnt Point Resources → Coxheath Resources → Silvore Fox → Golden Share → Nova Copper → Atlantic Green Energy Minerals
Each iteration promises opportunity, attracted investment, and ended with failure, mergers, or de-registration. This information also links the current proponents to most of these repeated unsuccessful ventures.
Business Activities and Relationships
- Early: “The deposit was worked underground for copper in three periods, 1878-1891, 1899-1901, and 1928-1930” link
- “Opened in 1863 by Jas. MacKenzie, it was brought to the notice of Isaac P. Gragg; of Boston, when that gentleman was interested in Lake Ainslie oil wells in 1881. Extensive development was carried on under successive managements for some twenty years or more, but for what cause I know not: the actual working of the mine as a copper producer was always deferred. This undertaking enjoyed a reputation as a producer of works of fiction."

If the results reveal material amounts of mineralization present, then SFX will issue an update at that time.” (No follow-up occurred, SF and Donia leave exploration license with Cabrita.)

Further Considerations
Most of the work done to this point was carried out by off-island professional contractors, until the recently added local representative Joeseph Hines of Nova Copper and C&J Hines Contracting Inc. link and link (additional information on LinkedIn).
Further attention should be given to the variety of drill holes and samples were taken over the decades and reports filed with the province. Although the most recent report might read to be more positive than earlier reports, the professional recommendation regarding a noticeable viable quantity of critical minerals so far appears to be “analyze and keep looking.” There is no question that exploration is being done properly and samples are being taken, it’s whether the samples equate to anything viable at scale.
Attention should also be given to the suitability of tailings pond locations recommended by professionals in the 2022 report, which contradicts the change to dry-stacking by Cabrita after concerns from the media – which still poses a significant hazard as stated in report from Emerman, should an actual mining company carry out operations.
Speculation, exploration and test mining will likely continue just as it has, until it becomes too difficult to access additional land that is within the boundaries of the exploration licenses.
